The Cranberry
- The Cranberry belongs to the family of blueberries and is mainly cultivated in the U.S. and Canada.
- It‘s taste is herb and sour.
- It is rich in anti-oxidants to fight against free radicals.
- Clinical studies have also shown a potential to prevent urinary tract infections.
- During harvest the Cranberry fields are flooded. Matured, not damaged fruits swim on the surface as they have some air inside. Non-matured and damaged fruits sink down on the ground while workers skim the good fruits from the surface.
- The fruity and sour flavour gives Carpe Diem Kombucha Cranberry a very fruity taste that overlays the vinegar hints of the fermentation.
Quince
- Quince is part of the familiy of rose plants and has it‘s origin in the Caucasus region.
- The taste is similar to apple and pear.
- The fruits are harvested non-matured, just when the colour of the fruits turns from green to yellow. By doing this the naturally occuring pectin is preserved.
- Quince is rich in vitamin C, potassium, sodium, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, flouride and organic acids.
- The greek Hippocrates used quince to cure diarrhea and fever. The roman Galen used quince juice to support the stomach.
- The quince herb gives Carpe Diem Kombucha Quince a fruity but not too sweet flavour.
